One of the sweetest things you’ve ever seen takes place moments after I arrive at the train station where my parents live in Sussex.

Winston and I get off the train, walk along the platform and through the exit barriers... and that’s when he remembers.

He starts pulling frantically on the leash towards my mum, my dad - sometimes both - who are standing outside of their car in the station car park.

He is SO excited. Honestly, you’ve never seen anything like it.

Or maybe you have. Maybe you’ve seen that kind of Corgi eagerness when they’re presented with cheese or someone/something they love.

Sometimes, when I know it’s safe and quiet, I’ll let Winston off the lead a few metres away from them…

And the way he RUNSSSSS into their arms!!!

🥹🥹🥹 it’s the best!

Snoot boops and bunny hops,

Winston & Bella x

Do you listen for the click?

Keep an ear out for those little clicks on the floor! If you hear them, it might be a sign your Corgi's nails are due for a trim. Longer nails can make their paws tilt uncomfortably, and a quick trim every few weeks keeps their skeleton aligned which is extra important for a long-backed dog like a Corgi. If you're on the look out for a great pair of nail clippers, I've summarised all the best ones on the market here.

Thank you so much to Christina for sharing Niles's progress with us!

🥕An inspiring weight loss story

Niles is a three-year-old corgi who came to Christina at 72lbs (his previous owner — an older gentleman — had been seriously overfeeding him… including sharing his Taco Bell).

Christina adopted him in July 2025, and she's happy to report he’s now down to 59lbs and dropping!

Their vet suggested a simple approach: feed him based on his goal weight, not his current weight. So at 72lbs, they fed him the amount recommended for a 60lb dog. Once he dropped under 60lbs, they moved to the 50lb recommendation — helping him lose weight gradually, rather than trying to rush it.

A few practical things that have helped:

  • They weigh his food in grams for consistency
  • They’ve limited treats and started paying attention to calories
  • Niles gets extra steps in when he joins Christina at her work (an outdoor shopping center) once a week

He also plays hard with his two-year-old corgi sister, Mochi, and is getting stronger as he goes.

Snail mail from London ✈️

Firstly, how cute are the personalized cards my best friend bought me?

Secondly, I absolutely loved sending something physical in the post to the winners (owner and Corgis) of the Billy Collins’ ‘Dog Show’ book and Lily’s Kitchen turkey treats back in December...

All the way from London to Utah! 🇺🇸

That’s quite the journey.

And I was absolutely delighted when Leslie wrote back to let me know that she, Dylon and her new rescue, Mazelee, had received the package safely.

Shall I do more giveaways in the future? 😍

🦊 The best way to store dog food on a budget

Let’s be honest. Leaving kibble in that giant, half-torn paper bag is a recipe for stale dinners for our doggos and potentially uninvited pests. Finding the right container is one of those small wins that makes life easier. Whether you need a heavy duty bin for the pantry or a sleek container for wet food in the fridge, I’ve picked out our 10 favorite dog food containers that’ll keep their meals fresh whatever your budget.
